🔥Inspired by The Clash’s landmark 1977 visit to Belfast, Protex emerged from the city’s first punk wave alongside The Undertones and Rudi. Originally named Protex Blue after a song by The Clash, they released their debut single, Don’t Ring Me Up, on the legendary Good Vibrations Records, that was reissued by Rough Trade. More melodic than pure punk, they combine punk, power pop and rock ’n’ roll with catchy melodies, loud guitars and plenty of attitude!
